Quick Assist

Quick Assist is Windows built-in application to access a remote device without any installation. It is free and great for simple tasks.

Installation manual of the tool

On Windows OS, go to Start > search for ‘Quick Assist’. Open the app on both the local and remote PC that you would like to access.

Some testing on the tool capabilities

Controlling a Remote PC

Step 1: From the local PC, click on ‘Assist another person’ and login to a Microsoft account to continue.

Step 2: Share the generated security code from the local PC with the remote PC.

Step 3: Share the security code with the remote PC.

Step 4: Choose ‘Take full control’ to control the remote PC.

Step 5: The remote PC needs to agree to the access request.

Step 6: Now, the remote PC’s screen is successfully controlled from the local PC.

Exploration of the tool features

Select Monitor

In the case where several monitors exist, the Assistant can switch between the different monitor views for convenience.

Annotate

Annotate allows the Assistant to draw on the screen to provide clearer demonstration of the help.

Task Manager

The Assistant can check on the remote PC’s task manager for troubleshooting.
